Name: Star Gazer |
Owner: The Edgars |
|
Star AKA Apple Valley Watson Ultra DNA is a 2008 Reg. Canadian. Star was broke to ride in late summer of 2011 and will be a "do it all" kind of horse. He will be training for dressage and driving and will be Melissa Edgars show horse. He has a great calm and willing personality, aims to please, and is a quick learner.
He has been in the show ring since he was 1 1/2 yrs old and shows great potential. In 2010 he won high point showmanship, grand champion stallion, and 2011 high point showmanship. We have high expectations for Star and hope he is ready for Trillium in 2012 show season.
Star shows in the Canadian Futurity and show in Orangeville and we are hoping to make it to Merrickville this summer as well. He also represents Canada's National horse down at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair at the Spirit of the Horse ring.

Name: Apache |
Owner: Miranda Maitland |
|
Apache is a 15.3-16h (and growing) Percheron Paint cross, I bought him June 2011 as an unbroken 3yr old. He spent a month in training with Daisy Collins and did amazing. Apache is w/t/c, will leg yield, and is great on trail. He is the quietest, calmest, most willing 3yr old most of us have come across. We are currently working on getting round and bending properly. We are only working on the flat giving him a little more time to mature before we start jumping. I was a little leery about buying an unbroken young horse but it has been 2x as exciting watching him grow and develop so far. He is turning out to be the perfect horse for me, just enough of a challenge. I was very lucky to find such a good youngster and I am so excited to be able to bring him along at stoneoaks!

Name: Calico |
Owner: Stoneoaks |
|
A.K.A. Grumpy. Calico is a one of a kind horse. Although he pretends not to like attention, we all know he does. He is an older horse who is still going strong and he makes riding interesting. He is a great lead trail horse and would take you up a tree if you asked him to. Calico has had training in western gaming and goes so fast when flag racing, nobody can ever pick up the flag. The love of his life is Roxy and they are inseparable. |

Name: Copper |
Owner: Gillian MacIntosh |
|
Copper, registered as Sabina Park, is a young 16hh thoroughbred gelding. He trained to race at Woodbine Toronto for two years before being sold to a riding school in Southern Ontario. After a short year spent at the riding school, I received him as a surprise birthday gift in 2011. Gentle, obliging and hard working sum him up. We have a lot to learn and work on but we hope to show in the near future. |

Name: Dancer |
Owner: Stoneoaks |
|
Dancer is one of the funniest horses at Stoneoaks. We are pretty sure he thinks he's a lap dog. Dancer is always in a terrific mood and loves everyone. He is approx. 16'2 hands and is 8-9 years old. Dancer is suited to all levels of riding and is one of the easiest horses for beginners to ride. Definitely a diamond in the rough. |

Name: Dusk |
Owner: Laura Conville |
|
Dusk, or show name 'Pandamonium', is a 13 year old thoroughbred warmblood, that I am currently eventing competitvely. The best result I've had so far with him is 4th place, which put myself and him into the championships this year at the Pre-training level. He has competed up to the Preliminary level. He travels extensivley. We take him down south a lot for many clinics and events. Dusk is very well mannered and a very reliable ride. He has a great disposition, and is very sweet. He has a lot of experience. We've kept him at Stoneoaks for almost a year now, and he has settled in very well. My eventing season with him will be starting soon, and I am very excited. He's a horse that I will learn a lot from, which can be said about riding in general, as you never finish learning!! I started riding at stoneoaks with Renee about 8 years ago when I first started off riding, and she trained me to be a very competant rider. I encourage anybody to consider Renee as their coach as I have learned a lot and have had a lot of fun with her! |

Name: Frosty |
Owner: Stoneoaks |
|
Frosty aka feist is a 14yo tb x hanno. Frosty has been all over the map, he started out as a fancy 3yo well on his way into the hunter ring until a horse kicked him and he broke his splint bone. With lots of love and time off he was back to work but lost all confidence in himself. Frost is still a little unsure at times but is well on his way in the jumper ring. |

Eight year old thoroughbred chestnut gelding "Indy" (Foxmandu) has several desirable qualities. He is gentle, loving, great with kids. He stands for ferrier, obedient for vet, baths, clips, trailers, ect. Can show hunter or jumper. Last year we did the open 2'9 jumper division, the year before we schooled around in the novice devision - always in the ribbons. Has jumped 4 feet, always wants to try, loves jumping and showing off. |

Name: Katie |
Owner: Deanna Cote |
|
Kiss Me Kate (Katie) is a pretty 14.3hh Quarter Horse mare, also owned by Deanna Cote. She is very handy and versatile, whether she is zooming around a jumper course, sorting cattle, turning a barrel, or exploring the trails...she always strives to make her rider happy. She has blossomed over the years from flighty and nervous to trusting and sweet. She LOVES to jump and anything that involves speed, but her dressage is also coming along nicely. She and Wally are an inseparable duo.

Name: Kye |
Owner: Jody Gagne |
|
Kye is a Hanoverian/Percheron (we think) gelding approximately 10 to 12 years old. He has a beautiful long black main and tail, a white star on his forehead and a white snip on the end of his nose, and his hind left hoof is also white. He has soft kind eyes, a gentle mouth when taking treats, and is very well mannered. Kye measures approximately 16.2 hands and is very impressive when seen in the flesh.
Although, Kye is one of the largest horses and can be pretty intimidating because of his size, he is also one of the gentlest horses at the farm. Kye has the heart of a lamb and loves people; he is happiest when being cuddled or shown affection. Kye has been and is still currently used as a school/lesson horse for both children and adults and, in the past, has also done therapeutic rides. He responds best to a strong rider who can be assertive while gaining his trust and respect without being harsh or overly demanding. He’s the type of horse that keeps you on your toes and makes you think while you’re on his back. No ride on Kye is ever boring or lacking in fun and excitement. Kye has training in English Dressage but also does trail rides, and likes jumping. He especially loves trotting poles - no one knows why. Jody Amyotte is Kye’s very proud owner.

Name: Malakai |
Owner: Grace McEachern |
|
Malakai is a 4 year old QH x Belgian gelding that came from the boonies near Peterborough as a "green broke" horse. He ended up not being broke, but he was very easy to start. He has nice movement and is a very comfy ride. Kai seems to have a natural talent for dressage, and apparently escaping through electric fence and outsmarting Renee and Justin.

Name: Sandman |
Owner: Stoneoaks |
|
Sandman is well, just Sandman. He is the boss of the herd and sometimes thinks he is the boss of riding too. Sandman has come a long way in the two years he has been at Stoneoaks and is now jumping courses and has started to learn barrel racing. He gets upset if you don't let him lead on trail rides and just wants to be first (he is the boss... or so we let him think). Sandman will always have a scruffy mane and forelock because nobody will let me pull it...=) |

After a bad accident, she quickly became a barn favorite to the wonderful people helping her recover, and well to alot of people that were just watching her recover. She came to me as one of the greatest Christmas gifts ever (Thanks Mom). With a little work to show her who was boss we have started a nice little relationship. After a few kick attempts anyway. My hopes for our future together are #1 to have my son be able to ride her, and #2 for all of us to have fun whether its on the trails or running barrels or even Sharon jumping her. Here is to our future. |

|
Name: Wally |
Owner: Deanna Cote |
|
Wally is the most handsome and courageous 18hh Dutch Warmblood stallion to ever walk the planet... or so we let him think! Wally is actually (don't tell him) a 17 year old, partially blind, 12.3hh Hackney X gelding who has no shortage of personality. Overconfident, scary intelligent, and just a big goof, he has been driving his owner, Deanna Cote, crazy for almost 10 years. Wally's small size, extreme speed, and unflappable personality has won him countless ribbons and awards in Mounted Games. His favourite things, though, include charming the mares, harassing the geldings, and thinking up mischievous ways to outsmart the people and horses at Stoneoaks (especially Gus).
